James Frampton and Lady Teresa Gardner join our Board of Trustees

Here at The Ted Wragg Trust we are thrilled to welcomed Plymouth-based Lady Teresa Gardner and Exeter-based James Frampton to our Board of Trustees.

Moira Marder, Chief Executive of the Ted Wragg Trust, says: “We would like to offer a very warm welcome to Lady Teresa Gardner and James Frampton, as they join our Board of Trustees. Teresa is the second trustee from Plymouth and will be a great addition to the board. James has wide experience of acting as a trustee for several trusts and has been a governor and chair of the Local Governing Body at St James School.”

“Both Teresa and James will also sit on the audit and risk committee, and I believe they will be a huge asset to our already impressive team. I am looking forward to working closely with both of them as we embark on an exciting period of innovation and growth.”

Moira adds: “As an ambitious and inclusive Trust of schools, we are committed to strengthening our communities through excellent education. With a rich and diverse group of like-minded individuals within our Board of Trustees we will continue to help transform lives through learning.”

Teresa is a Master of Education (Leadership), she gained extensive senior management experience as a director of faculty in a large further education college. Her responsibilities included quality assurance and improvement working closely with a number of departments to raise achievement and improve the learner experience. Teresa remains committed to improving the educational environment for all by raising standards.

She has worked as a post-16 local authority and adult independent learning provider quality improvement consultant which has enabled her to gain wider experience and to play a significant role in ensuring that an appropriate, good, and well-taught curriculum is accessible, so that learners are enabled to know and do more and are able to progress in their aspirations.

Teresa said: “I am incredibly honoured to be joining the Board of Trustees here at the Ted Wragg Trust. It is an incredibly exciting time to be involved with the Trust whose values align with my own as I am a firm believer in social justice and lifelong education and learning. I am very excited to be working with the Trust and look forward to using my expertise to improve opportunity for all.”

James is a solicitor and partner at Michelmores LLP in Exeter and specialises in providing trust and succession advice. He has wide experience of advising and acting as a trustee and has been a governor on the Local Governing Board at St James School since 2015.

James said: “I am delighted and honoured to be joining the Board of Trustees and am very much looking forward to working with the trustees and executive team to continue the fantastic work of the Ted Wragg Trust.”

Andy Mulcock, Chair of Trustees, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Teresa and James who between them bring a wide range of experience from Teresa’s impressive career within education leadership and James’ as a partner in the Private Wealth team at Michelmores LLP and specialising in trusts and estate planning. As a board we are constantly reviewing our skill set and what the trust needs to enable us to achieve our mission.”
