You will be aware that last week the Prime Minister announced that the conditions had been met for schools to be able to welcome back more pupils from Monday 1 June 2020 for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 and he also confirmed that Year 10 and Year 12 should expect some “face to face” support from Monday 15 June 2020. Our in-school provision for children of key workers and vulnerable learners will continue for all year groups across all our Ted Wragg schools.
Our focus now is on ensuring the safety and well-being of our staff and pupils in this next phase and specifically on the re-engagement, nurture and support for the young people who will be in school.
Our staff have worked really hard to ensure that our schools were ready to welcome more pupils this week. Thorough risk assessments had been completed as well as modifications to school premises which include new signage, distance marking and one-way systems. New arrangements for cleaning and the provision of catering have also had to be planned for each individual school. All of these have been reviewed by the Ted Wragg Board of Trustees following scrutiny by its Executive Leadership. I wish to express my gratitude to the Trust Board and school senior leaders, along with other teaching and support staff who have enabled this to happen.
We have all been delighted to welcome more pupils back into our schools this week and we would like to thank you for your patience, support and understanding during these most challenging of times.
