This role will provide Governance support for the Trust in addition to specific responsibility as Clerk to the Board for Fusion School Services, the Trust’s subsidiary company.  The Assistant Clerk plays a key role in supporting the Clerk to the Trust, Head of Corporate Governance & Compliance and the Trustees to carry out their roles effectively by providing administrative and organisational support, including facilitating effective meetings, events and strategic governance.

The Assistant Clerk will also advise on governance, constitutional and procedural matters within the current legislative framework as required. As well as playing a key role in facilitating the recruitment and induction of new Governors to Trust Schools.

You will also provide high quality administrative and organisational support to Trust Committees including the preparation of agendas and meeting papers, taking accurate minutes of meetings and maintaining administrative and organisational records.

You should have excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be self-motivated, flexible, and able to work under your own initiative and to manage deadlines.  The ability to remain impartial and maintain confidentiality is essential as is the ability to take accurate and concise minutes of meetings.

Experience of clerking or working in a similar administrative role is desirable. The role will involve taking minutes at Trust meetings throughout the year, some of which will take place after the school day or in the evenings.
