Teacher of Dance

Permanent, Part-time (0.32 FTE), Starting September 2020

Do you have a relentless drive to achieve outstanding progress and attainment with children regardless of their background and prior learning?

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, capable and innovative teacher, with a proven commitment to inclusive and inspiring teaching where each and every child can succeed. You will be an enthusiastic specialist able to teach Dance at Key Stage 4. The post represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant and ambitious Academy working within the Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust.

Our school is located on a campus with purpose-built accommodation, offering spacious and excellent teaching and learning facilities. We currently have a roll of 920 students, growing to full capacity in 2021. Isca Academy prides itself on providing high quality comprehensive education. Our students have a broad range of abilities and aspirations on entry, from able, gifted and talented to students needing more support with literacy and social skills. Our focus remains on every student in our school exceeding expectations, whatever their starting point. Beyond academic credentials, we firmly believe in the value of a more rounded education which promotes creativity, self-belief and confidence, and as such, offer an exceptional extra-curricular and outdoor education programme.

The Performing Arts department is a team of passionate specialists, who continuously seek to work in innovative ways and who offer a wide range of high quality opportunities to our students to show them what is possible within the Performing Arts. We host a variety of performance opportunities, such as the Isca Underground Festival, Winter Whirligig, whole school productions, and plays. The school also holds an annual dance show that is a highlight of the school calendar and has a high number of students participating within it. The department benefits from the support of a music/AV technician and peripatetic music teachers, and works closely with colleagues from the Visual Arts Team. The school also has close links with various members of the community including local venues, other schools, and visiting artists. Dance is offered at KS4 and follows the BTEC Technical Award in Performing Arts (alongside Drama). We also run trips to see various professional performances and workshops that inspire our students.

If you are passionate about teaching Dance and about inspiring our young people, we would love to hear from you.

The Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants will be subject to a full Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
