Teacher of Religious Education
Full-Time, starting September 2020
Although this is a permanent post, the appointment will be fixed-term for twelve months initially as recruitment will be conducted without the benefit of observing candidates teach.
Do you have a relentless drive to achieve outstanding outcomes
for children regardless of their background and prior learning?
As a result of an internal promotion, we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, capable and innovative teacher, with a proven commitment and track record in inclusive and inspiring teaching, where each and every child succeeds. You will be a highly skilled subject specialist, able to teach Religious Education across KS3 and KS4. The post represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant and ambitious Academy working within the Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust. Whilst we would welcome applications from recently qualified teachers, this post is not open to NQTs.
Our school is located on a campus with purpose-built accommodation, offering spacious and excellent teaching and learning facilities. We currently have a roll of 920 students, growing to full capacity in 2021. Isca Academy prides itself on providing high quality comprehensive education. Our students have a broad range of abilities and aspirations on entry, from able, gifted and talented to students needing more support with literacy and social skills. Our focus remains on every student in our school exceeding expectations, whatever their starting point. Beyond academic credentials, we firmly believe in the value of a more rounded education which promotes creativity, self-belief and confidence, and as such, offer an exceptional extra-curricular and outdoor education programme.
Our Religious Education Department has an excellent reputation within the school, and has attracted a number of visits from other educational establishments interested in our success over the years. The department has grown from a position where no students were taking GCSE exams in R.E to the point now where almost all students do so. Our R.E. results are consistently amongst the best in the school, and compare very favourably with other schools who enter full cohorts into R.E examinations. The Department boasts talented, experienced staff who have a passion for their subject and who have a great working relationship and team spirit. Resources are plentiful, with a collaborative approach to planning and delivering the curriculum, and the three R.E. teachers each have their own teaching room located close to one another.
