Teacher of Spanish - St James School

The deadline for this vacancy has passed.

DfE MFL Hub Specialist Teacher

St James is looking to appoint an excellent teacher of Spanish to join our MFL Department from September 2020.  This is a fabulous opportunity for someone looking to develop their career as you will be working alongside a colleague to lead on the DfE MFL Hub. This post is therefore particularly attractive to aspirant middle and senior leaders as it offers the opportunity to work across several trust schools. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject; fluent in Spanish and able to teach Spanish at KS3 and KS4.

We are one of only nine schools in England to become a Department for Education MFL hub. Further details can be found here https://www.gov.uk/government/news/languages-boost-to-deliver-skilled-workforce-for-uks-businesses

We are an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school of approximately 950 students situated in the East of Exeter on a relatively new, purpose-built site which offers excellent facilities for all our departments.

We have a lovely staff body here at St James who are committed and passionate about all that they do. We work closely with other schools in the Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust and are currently developing an aligned curriculum that will allow for shared resources and expertise. We offer our staff weekly coaching sessions, bespoke CPD, in-house career progression opportunities and regular staff-wellbeing events.

At St James, our work is underpinned by the following four pillars:

  • Having uncompromising high standards for all
  • Keeping the arts at the heart of the school
  • Valuing being outward facing
  • Practising kindness
