Teaching Assistant (Secondary) - Cranbrook Education Campus

Teaching Assistant Vacancy (Secondary)

Grade B (£15,286 – £15,592)

37 hours per week (8:00am – 4:00pm), Term Time Only

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant or Graduate wishing to pursue a career in teaching, to work alongside the classroom teachers in our secondary school. Alternatively, if you have finished your teacher training and have yet to obtain a teaching position and would like an opportunity to develop your confidence and subject knowledge, we would welcome an application from you. We recognise that Covid has impacted trainee teachers and has led them not having the same level of teaching experience as those of previous years.

The ideal applicant will preferably have a NVQ2 or 3 (or equivalent) or a degree if they aspire to train to be a teacher in the future and have experience of working with children. We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking, creative practitioners, able to motivate pupils.

It is desirable that candidates have grade C or equivalent in English and Maths GCSE, a good level of spoken English, are a good team member and are able to develop positive behaviour strategies with children.

We are able to provide you with excellent opportunities to develop further.

The successful candidate will:

  • be an outstanding classroom practitioner
  • have experience or a good working knowledge of the curriculum
  • have the skills and sensitivity to deal with all members of our community and multi-agency partners
  • be enthusiastic, driven and committed to ensuring the school’s future success
  • be able to work as part of a friendly and supportive team
  • be a life-long learner and an inspiration to others.

Please email recruitment@cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk if you have any questions about the position and wish to apply.

If successful, you will be an employee of the Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust, a charitable foundation trust, which works with schools in Exeter and the local community to raise the aspirations of young people and enable them to become fulfilled, confident and motivated citizens, able to contribute actively to a democratic society. All students within the Ted Wragg Trust, regardless of social or cultural background, are motivated to succeed and make outstanding progress because their needs are met through creative, relevant and innovative provision.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check and Disclosure by Association will be required for the post.

An application form is available from the Campus website: www.cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk

The closing date is 9.00am, Wednesday 3rd November 2021. We intend to shortlist applicants on receipt of their completed applications. Should the school be in a position to offer the post to a successful applicant, the closing date will be brought forward.

Completed applications should be sent to Clare Sellick, Business Support Officer, Cranbrook Education Campus, Tillhouse Road, Cranbrook, EX5 7EE, or e-mailed to recruitment@cranbrookeducationcampus.org.uk
