Students celebrate Post 16 results
Students and staff from across our family of schools have been celebrating their KS5 results today (15th Aug.)
Students across the TWT family of schools achieved a fantastic set of Post-16 results, more students than ever receiving top marks of A*-A. This has meant more students than ever achieved the results they wanted to go on to their next steps in life, whether that means studying at university, pursuing a vocational course, starting an apprenticeship or going into the world of work.
Honiton Community College
The Sixth Form provision at Honiton Community College is rated Good by Ofsted. Inspectors noted that the curriculum at the Sixth Form is well established and that students in the Sixth Form value the support they receive from staff. Honiton’s post-16 students are known throughout the Trust for their extraordinary fundraising efforts that secured their win at the inaugural Ted Wragg Awards for Student Community Leadership. It was smiles all round in Honiton as over a fifth of all grades awarded were at A* or A.

“This morning, we welcomed our amazing Year 13 students back into Honiton Community College to receive their results. We could not be prouder of these students. Starting their journey towards their GCSEs with multiple national lockdowns starting in Year 9, the scale of their achievements cannot be overstated.
“With over a fifth of all grades awarded being A*/A’s, the dedication, resilience, and spirit of our Year 13s has definitely shone through. It has been a genuine pleasure to have seen the students’ journey through Post 16, and I wish them all the best in their next endeavours.”
Lipson Cooperative Academy
Throughout the Sixth Form journey at Lipson Co-operative Academy students are supported by outstanding teachers and a pastoral team who support and guide them in every aspect of Post 16 life. From advice and guidance during enrolment, to helping students navigate the application process for university, an apprenticeship, or employment and all the bits in between, students are supported and given every opportunity to be successful in making their dreams a reality.
Lipson students are excited for their next steps and staff at the school are delighted that, for the first time in the school’s history, no student is having to secure a university place via clearing and that a huge number of students will be attending their first-choice university. More Lipson students that ever are also moving on to attend prestigious Russell Group universities.
Lipson student Jacob Liney is going off to the University of West England to study film making and Benjamin Edwards will be reading Law at the University of Cardiff. Fern Orchard who received a triple Distinction* in Sport will be returning to Lipson next year as a Learning Mentor whilst pursuing her dream of being a professional footballer.

Marine Academy Plymouth
The Sixth Form at Marine Academy Plymouth (MAP) in St Budeaux was rated Good by Ofsted this year with inspectors noting that the school has a highly consistent and effective approach to teaching the curriculum, including in the Sixth Form. Inspectors also mentioned in their report that students in the Sixth Form value the support they get in making choices about their futures.
MAP students were over the moon with a brilliant set of results, this year over 50% of disadvantaged students at MAP students have achieved University places. Destinations for MAP students this year include Bath, Warwick, Exeter, Durham, Nottingham, Swansea and Plymouth.

Queen Elizabeth's
Queen Elizabeth’s Sixth Form has a long history of excellence. Set within the historic College House, the Sixth Form is a learning environment that fosters and encourages students to become creative and technical intellectuals equipped with the skills needed to thrive at undergraduate level and in employment. The Sixth Form provision is rated Good by Ofsted who noted that the Sixth Form is well regarded by students and parents alike
Theo Whish has gained A Levels in law, English Language and geography and will take up a place at University of Cardiff to study a degree in law while Barney Cockings is moving to Japan to follow a languages and general studies course before his degree course in archaeology and history.
Elise Williams, who has studied A Levels in business, geography and photography, will take up a degree in interior design next year at the University of Norwich. Maddie Singleton and Sophie Wallis are both going on to study psychology in Bath. Olivia Howard will be studying marketing at the University of Plymouth and Sophie Hartshorne intends to take up an apprenticeship in law or business.

Sidmouth College
The Sixth Form at Sidmouth College is a dynamic place, they have an extensive and ever-changing enrichment programme and are continuing to introduce new subjects, activities and facilities for their students. It’s a Sixth Form that is going places, as evidenced by their examination results and the ever-increasing number of students who choose to stay at the college or join them after Year 11. This year at Sidmouth A*-A grades increased by an amazing 6% compared with last year.
Sidmouth student Elise Connick is off to Reading University after receiving 2 A*s and an A and Poppy Teuton is going to the University of Bristol after achieving 3 As. Mia Kirsch is off to UEA to study medicine after receiving a brilliant A* and 2 As. Lastly, Flora Hadfield will be attending Manchester University after getting 3 A*s today!

Tor Bridge High
Lastly at the Sixth Form at Tor Bridge High, their mission is to support and encourage their learners to achieve the highest standards in both their academic and vocational qualifications. The courses they offer are designed to give students the greatest chance of success in today's competitive jobs market.
Many Tor Bridge students are taking up places in Higher Education and professional careers including:
- Jessica Button - Law A, Psychology B, English B. Jess will be reading Psychology at Plymouth Univeristy.
- Euan Jones is off to Cardiff University after receiving an A in Art and Design, a B in Biology, a B in Maths and an A in Maths Studies.
- Orbie Archer secured a Double Distinction in Engineering and is taking up an apprenticeship at NG Bailey.
- Kelsey Pooley got an A* in Art and Design, an A* in Graphic Design and a C in Spanish. Kelsey is off to read Art at Falmouth University.
