    Andy Mulcock

    Chair of the Trust

    Andy taught as a secondary school teacher for eight years before becoming a youth worker in the voluntary sector. Andy is now a self-employed consultant leader, supporting a network of linked churches across Devon and Somerset. He is a director of the South West Youth Ministries and serves on Exeter University’s Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Sponsors Team. Andy has been a school governor for over 23 years in both primary and secondary education.

    Philip Bostock OBE

    Vice Chair of the Trust

    Philip was Chief Executive of Exeter City Council for 16 years until his retirement in 2013. He joined Exeter College as a governor in 2010 and served as Chair of the college’s Board of Governors between 2013 and 2017. Philip joined the Ted Wragg Trust in 2017.

    Philip chairs the Trust’s Growth & Development Committee

    Moira Marder

    Chief Executive Officer & Trust Accounting Officer

    Moira has worked in South West education since 2007. First as a Deputy, then as Headteacher of St James School, before becoming the CEO of the Ted Wragg Trust. She is a member of the Devon Association of Secondary Heads and is a national leader of education. Moira has a track record of driving school improvement and has a particular passion for inclusive education.

    Alex Walmsley

    Principal Finance Officer

    Alex is a chartered accountant and is an experienced non-executive director and business advisor. Alex is a local leader of governance. Alex represents academies at Devon Education Forum and Devon Schools Finance Group and is a member of the Exeter Diocesan Board of Education Schools Organisation and Governance Group. Alex is also Chair of First Federation Trust.

    Alex chairs the Trust’s Finance & Resources Committee.

    Sarah O’Meara

    Trustee

    Sarah is a primary school teacher. She was born in Exeter and educated in schools that are now part of the Ted Wragg Trust.  Sarah has been a school Governor and Vice-Chair of the governing body of a local primary school and served as a Director on the Board of a primary school Multi Academy Trust. She believes strongly in optimising the educational experience of all young people.

    Sarah chairs the Trust’s Education Committee.

    James Frampton

    Trustee

    James is a partner in the Private Wealth team at Michelmores LLP and specialises in trusts and estate planning.

    James has wide experience of being a Trustee for several trusts and has been a governor and chair of the Local Governing Board at St James School.

    James Chairs the Trust's Audit & Risk Committee. 

    Teresa Gardner

    Trustee

    Teresa is a Master of Education (Leadership), she gained extensive senior management experience as a Director of Faculty in a large Further Education College. Teresa has worked as a Quality Improvement Consultant for Post-16 Local Authority and Adult Independent Learning Providers. 

    Teresa is a firm believer in social justice and lifelong education & learning. She remains committed to using her expertise to raise standards to improve the educational environment and opportunity for all..

    Lindsay Hetherington

    Trustee

    Lindsay is an Associate Professor of Science Education and Head of Initial Teacher Education at the University of Exeter. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Editor of the journal Research in Science and Technological Education and a member of the Russell Group ITE network.

    Richard Jacobs

    Trustee

    Richard is an Exeter based businessman, was a magistrate for 23 years and Chairman of the Youth Panel for nine. Richard was founder Chairman of the Marsh Barton Forum and the Exeter Business Forum and is a member of the Exmouth Regeneration Board. Richard has a particular focus on children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

    Professor Lee Elliot-Major

    Trustee

    Lee is Britain’s first Professor of Social Mobility and he was appointed by the University of Exeter to be a global leader in the field. Lee is a former Chief Executive of the Sutton Trust, an education journalist and government advisor on social mobility. He is a founding Trustee of the Education Endowment Foundation, a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics International Inequalities Institute and an Honorary Professor at the UCL Institute of Education.

    Ben Manning

    Trustee

    Ben is the Deputy Principal at City College Plymouth. Ben has representation on various boards and committees across Plymouth and has also been a Magistrate for the last 15 years. He has an unwavering commitment and passion for improving outcomes for all learners and has taught and led in the education sector for over 18 years.

    Saxon Spence CBE

    Trustee

    Saxon has extensive experience of local government and education at local, regional and national level. She was a Devon County Councillor for 36 years, 29 of these as leader of the Labour Group. Saxon is a Freeman of the City of Exeter. She is a member of the Northbrook Board of Managers and serves on Devon’s SACRE. Outside of education Saxon is actively involved in the Co-operative and Labour Parties, Fairtrade and is a Trustee of Exeter Food Action.

    Crispin Taylor

    Trustee

    Crispin has worked in the field of mental health since 1980. He recently retired from his role as the Deputy Director & Safeguarding Lead for Children and Family Health Devon which covered services including CAMHS & ASD, learning disability, speech & language, therapies and community nursing.  Crispin is the lead Trustee for safeguarding and mental health.

    Jade Otty

    Trustee

    Jade Otty is Vice Principal at Exeter College.

    Before being appointed to her current position, Jade headed the academic provision at the College, overseeing A level and IB provision. Prior to joining the College, Jade worked in secondary schools as a teacher and then Head of Department for History and Politics. 

    Jade has previously been a secondary school Governor and a charity Trustee.
