Exmouth Students Hit the Slopes in Memorable Austrian Ski Adventure

Students from Exmouth Community College (ECC) have returned from an unforgettable ski trip to Austria.
A group of 49 students from Years 8, 9 and 10 spent a week in Obertauern, taking part in a programme designed to challenge and inspire skiers of all abilities. Throughout the week, students participated in daily ski instruction tailored to their ability level.
Beginners made remarkable progress, moving from the basics of balance and snowplough turns to confidently completing blue runs by the end of the trip. Intermediate skiers refined their technique and tackled more challenging terrain, while the advanced group demonstrated skill and confidence on steep red and black runs, further developing precision and control.
Beyond skiing, students enjoyed a range of evening activities including mini golf, Austrian skittles and a quiz night, helping to build friendships across year groups and strengthen the sense of community.
Exmouth Community College, which is part of the Ted Wragg Trust, is committed to offering enriching experiences beyond the classroom that help students develop confidence and resilience.
Tom Inman, Headteacher at Exmouth Community College, said:
"This trip was a fantastic opportunity for our students to step outside their comfort zones and develop both personally and socially. We are incredibly proud of the way they approached every challenge with determination and positivity. Experiences like this are invaluable in building confidence, independence and lasting memories."
Moira Marder, CEO of the Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust, said:
"Opportunities like this, which enable students to try new activities and challenge themselves, are an important part of a well-rounded education. It is wonderful to see students from across the trust enjoying new experiences and developing resilience and teamwork in such an inspiring setting."
