We want every child to grow up happy, healthy and supported, in communities that feel connected and strong. We believe that schools have an opportunity to be deeply rooted in their neighbourhood and through our strengthening communities work, we help bring schools, services and communities together to create joined‑up support.
What we do
Through our Strengthening Communities work, we provide support to help our schools to embed community engagement across everything they do and create a more connected system around children and families. This means:

Burrington Community Hub
The Burrington Community Hub, based on our school site at All Saints Academy Plymouth, is a welcoming space that creates meaningful experiences and opportunities that enable the entire community to thrive and flourish.
Since opening in 2024, the team have fostered social connections to reduce isolation, including through parent and toddler groups, supported mental health and wellbeing through offering access to specialist resource like counselling to crisis support, and helped to address food poverty.

Queen Elizabeth's School Community Renovation Project
Supporting Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton, we’re in the process redeveloping College House as a vibrant, welcoming space that serves both the school and the wider Crediton community.
After launching a Community Panel this year (2026) to put local voices at the heart of the future plans, work will continue in partnership to design a space that celebrates the Grade II listed buildings heritage whilst becoming a high-quality teaching and community space.
