Charlie Bourne - St James School
Charlie is an exceptional teacher, a compassionate leader and a beloved member of our school community. She lives and breathes our values of diversity, equity, community and kindness. Her students adore her and our families do too. Whether she’s teaching a science lesson, mentoring a trainee, or with her tutor group, Charlie brings warmth, care and unwavering dedication. Her students speak so highly of her - not just because of how much they learn, but because they feel seen, respected and valued. The excellent results achieved by her students are a reflection of the high standards, clear structure and unwavering encouragement she provides. From her leadership in science to her pastoral care as a tutor, Charlie's contributions are immeasurable. She is not just a teacher, she is a force for good in our school.

Nathan’s journey from technician to Deputy Head of Year is nothing short of inspiring. His passion, warmth and dedication shine in every role. As a photography and art teacher, he inspires students to express themselves boldly and think differently and he’s always happy to step in to teach other classes where needed. Nathan’s pastoral care as SEN Lead and Deputy Head is deeply valued - he’s calm, supportive and universally respected. More than a teacher, he’s a mentor and champion for every student he meets and we are so lucky to have him as part of our community.

Beck embodies Whipton Barton Federation’s values, creating warm, inspiring classrooms where every child feels safe and motivated. She tailors learning to meet diverse needs, builds strong relationships and supports colleagues with positivity and practical strategies. Co-professional of the Year
Laura Sacre - Exwick Heights
Laura has quickly become someone we simply couldn’t imagine the School without. Often the first face people see, Laura brings calm, warmth and a welcoming presence to every interaction. She sets the tone for our school and helps people feel like they belong from the very first moment. Behind the scenes, she supports everyone with kindness, humour and impressive efficiency. Exceptionally organised and quietly dedicated, she lives our values of kindness, curiosity and determination. Clare Marcus-Embleton - Queen Elizabeth’s School
Clare is the epitome of professionalism, working tirelessly to ensure that both our schools are open, running smoothly and welcoming to all. Everyone benefits from Clare’s calm positivity and solution focussed approach to every issue or crisis that comes with the operation of a historic school with 1200 students and two sites. No job is too big or too small for Clare; she is strategic and unreasonably hospitable in equal measure. She expertly resolves community concerns, drives the minibus, sorts out fire or storm damage. From toilet duty to hosting national politicians, Clare takes it all in her stride and always with a smile. Many staff will not be aware of the incredible work that Clare performs behind the scenes – things just happen, almost magically. She does the hard stuff – making difficult decisions using her excellent judgement and the soft stuff – the emotion work that makes QE function – which is the really hard stuff. Working with her is a joy and we’re so lucky she is part of our community.
