Exmouth Sixth Form Showcases Opportunities for the Next Generation

Prospective students and their families have discovered the opportunities available at Exmouth Community College Sixth Form during an open evening showcasing its specialist facilities and supportive learning environment.
Visitors were able to experience the breadth of Sixth Form life, including exciting practical experiments in specialist science laboratories and the college’s Football Academy, represented by coaches and players.
Impressive media productions also demonstrated ECC students’ creativity and technical expertise and year 12 and year 13 student ambassadors shared their experiences and answered questions about life at the college.
The event offered an insight into a Sixth Form that combines academic ambition with a personalised approach to learning, helping young people develop the independence, confidence and skills they need for their next steps.
Exmouth Community College Sixth Form aims to raise aspirations and broaden horizons for young people in Exmouth and the surrounding area, providing pathways into higher education, apprenticeships and employment.

Tom Inman, Headteacher at Exmouth Community College, said:
“We are exceptionally proud of our Sixth Form and, in particular, the students who make it such a great place to learn. Our approach is centred on knowing students really well and ensuring every student has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
“We place a strong emphasis on developing students’ independence and preparing them for life beyond school. The success of this approach is reflected in our results, with many students progressing to employment, apprenticeships and leading universities, including Russell Group universities and Oxbridge.”
Moira Marder, CEO of the Ted Wragg Trust, said:
“It is fantastic to see Exmouth Community College Sixth Form showcasing the breadth of opportunities available to young people in the local community. A great Sixth Form experience is about more than academic success. It is about helping students discover their strengths and grow into curious, confident and independent young people with the skills they need to take their next steps.”
