Our Trust of Schools

Moving Image Competition

The Moving Image Competition, now in its second year, offers students from across our family of schools a chance to grow their skills and experience in creating short films.

Students submit their short films with a chance of winning across 15 categories, from best editing to best performance.

Hosted in the 360° Dome Cinema, the event brings together students, families, staff and industry professionals to celebrate the creativity and storytelling of young filmmakers.

The competition encourages students to explore every stage of the filmmaking process, from developing ideas and writing scripts to filming, editing and producing a final piece. Awards are presented across a range of categories, recognising both creative storytelling and technical excellence, including:

  • Best Short Film (KS3/4)
  • Best Short Film (Sixth Form)
  • Best Music Video
  • Best Informational Video
  • Best Awareness Campaign
  • Best Edit
  • Best Performance
  • Best Cinematography
  • Best Screenplay
  • Most Original Concept

Judged by industry professionals, the competition celebrates originality, creativity and innovation while helping students develop valuable skills in storytelling, communication, collaboration and digital media. From primary pupils creating their first film to sixth form students producing sophisticated cinematic projects, the Moving Image Competition provides a platform for young people across the Trust to share their ideas, build confidence and have their work recognised and celebrated.
