Aspire Conference
The Ted Wragg Trust Aspire Conference brings students from across Devon together for an annual event designed to inspire with aspirations for the future. The conference is open to Year 10 and Year 11 students at secondary schools across the Ted Wragg Trust. Students invited to attend are selected based on their academic potential, as the aim of the Aspire Conference is to increase students' goals, broaden their grasp of available opportunities, and ultimately inspire them to set high standards and strive for more.
The full-day event consists of talks from inspirational speakers and workshops challenging the students with interactive tasks or challenges. One of the highlights of the Aspire Conference is the post-16 and higher education fayre. Pupils have the chance to talk to representatives and student ambassadors from world-renowned universities such as Cambridge and Oxford, and other Russell Group universities. Leading post-16 providers such as Exeter Maths School, The Maynard School, and Exeter College are in attendance, so that students can map out their next steps as they plan for their futures.
To address the societal inequalities some of our students face, we strive to ensure our disadvantaged students receive extra encouragement to attend so that these young people can break cycles and be inspired to unleash their potential.
Next year's event will be held on Thursday 2nd November 2023
